When the bone is resorbed and does not allow the placement of a regular size implant a bone augmentation procedure is usually necessary (either a block bone graft or a sinus lift).

 

In specific cases, short wide implants can be utilized to restore the missing teeth thereby avoiding the other procedures.  


Each case will be assessed on an individual basis and the patient will be informed if s/he is an appropriate candidate for such a procedure.
